thanks Brian. the gear you already sent has benefited us greatly. we are training new snipers now so any extra gear would be great. most important to us is knowing guys like you exist and understand how difficult our job is.
Dave,
I received your package yesterday. Wow I'm at a lost for words. Thank you very much. I can't even explain how my spotter and I felt when we opened up the box. I myself am still in shock. We have been using the M49 spotting scope since being in country and this is a huge, huge improvement. It is really going to help my team out. We already started fielded it and the boots fit my spotter perfectly. I can't thank you enough. Thank you and Americansnipers.org

hey you guys are great, again thanks alot for the help. I know it will be much appreciated over here. Take it easy.
Ben
hey brian, again thatnks for the support and all your org does. Just wondering when i can expect a shipment. Mail takes about two weeks or so to get to our out of the way FOB next to xxxxxxx. Thanks again.
Sir,
My name is XXXXXXXX. I am a SSgt. with Scout Sniper Platoon XXXXXXXXXX and a Police Officer with the XXXXXXXXXXXXXX. I served as a team leader during OIF I as a Scout Sniper. I spent twelve hundred dollars of my own money to purchase gear for myself and my partner. I heard about the organization when I returned from the war, and figured that as the war went on we would get better training and more funds to purchase the proper equipment. So far we have not seen anything. I am the Sniper Employment Officer for my platoon and have struggled for years with the command to purchase our platoon the proper equipment and the provide us with the proper training that we need to go in to combat. With our deployment only a short time away I find my self asking the Marines to purchase their own equipment and look for private contractors to provide training. This can be fairly costly to a College kid who lives off his GI Bill. Please contact me via E-mail or by phone XXXXXXXX for any suggestions. Thank you.
Brian,
We can really use some accessories for our XXXXXX and was wondering if you had any.
Soft Mount
Monopod Assembly
Slings
Pack Mat
Rail Kit
Cheek Piece
Muzzle Cover
Bore Cleaner
Thanks
Sean
Family & Friends,
there will be no more emails from me from IRAQ.....(for awhile..lol)
i can't tell you exactly but within the next 12 hrs i will be on a helicopter headed for an airport to Kuwait to an airport headed for the USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this will take anywhere from 4 days to a week to happen in full so if i don't answer emails for the next week, don't worry, it just means i'm in travel back home to the USA where I and we all belong, the relief hasn't hit yet, there still feels like a huge weight on my shoulders, but i'm sure when that bird takes off here in Baghdad, the weight will just fall off and stay here.......
can you believe it, I'M COMING HOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it is truely overwhelming and hard to believe after so long away.
peace, love & understanding to all and a very Merry Christmas to each of you and your families, i'll miss the holidays but not the spirit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brian,
My name is SFC XXXXXX. I'm currently deployed to XXXXXXXX with the XXXXXXXXXX. I am a Scout Platoon Sergeant I went to Sniper School in 2002 and served as a scout sniper sqaud leader in Iraq. 1SG XXXXX, the 1SG for XXXXXXXXXX referred me to you for information on what your all about and possible logistical help. As you probably already know there is a lot of fighting going on this tour so whatever you can offer to make us more successful would be very appreciated. Thanks, Hope to here from you soon.
Sean
Just a heads up. my team has returned safely from our tour. I'd like to thank all that showed us support us throughout the deployment. It looks
as though we'll be returning to our "home away from home" soon in the
new year.
SSgt XXXXXXXX
Tim,
I am actually stateside now, but i have a few friends who went out a little over a month ago and they sure could use some gear for their marksman.
Brian,
Hey bro we have been intouch for a year or two now and I have just gotten out of the Army. I will be working for Nightforce and I will be at shot Show with them. Hopefully I can meet ya and say thanks for helping our community out.
XXXXXXXXX
Brian,
Sgt XXXX here from XXXXX Recon Bn. Our Bn has returned home from Iraq, we all thank you here for all the gear and support you provided throughout our mission. My Bn Sgt Maj gave me a few patches, coins, stickers, and poker chips with our Bn logo on them to add to your shadow boxes, I hope they help at the auction. Also, I am personally leaving Active duty and joining the reserves. I've spoken with a few of the guys at the unit and they have an XXXXXXX waiting for me but with an old scope. If you guys have any Schmidt and Bender or Horus scopes lying around I could sure use one.
Thanks.
I'll be sending the gear tommorrow,
-Sgt XXXXXXXXXXX
Brian, that would be awesome, thanks alot. Again anything you guys can send out we can use. You do great things.
Our armorer doesnt do Sniper and parts flow slow.
Thanks again.
Hey Brian. SPC XXXXXXXXXXXX here at FOB XXXXXXXXX on the XXXXXX. We doing well and up and running. Anything you could send out this way would be great. Pretty much the only thing we cant get is a wind meter and XXXXXXX scope parts and a scope for it. All is going good over here. You guys do great things for the men in uniform.
Thanks a lot
Guys,
I recieved the following from a Sniper Squad Leader that I met while attending the small Arms Master Gunner's Course this past October. He and his section will be deploying this month. I hope we can help them out with a few things, they seem kinda desperate.
"SFC XXXXXXXX,
Basically we're finally settling into the line company and still trying to understand what they want from the snipers. They're still only planning on bringing the XXXXXX and no one is tracking anything on the XXXXXXX they may be adding the XXXXXXX to the XXXXXX as a kit but it's still one big giant CF as per SOP. We talked to the supply sergeant and he's saying he doesn't think he can get the XXXXXXXXX Picatinny rail system and the XXXXXXX is way over his head and for any of that stuff he would need NSN's. I'm also still working on the A606 since no one in the BN seems to care about any of the sniper's opinions so this weekend we get to zero and qual on the XXXXX with de-linked ball ammo. However all that being said we're finally making headway with squad leaders and 1st Sgts so now we're gonna give the Sgt Maj and BC an ear full over the next couple of weeks and see if we can make more progress. As for the wishlist I talked to the rest of the snipers in the unit and we're pretty deficient so the list may seem long, but anything you could help us with will be ppreciated, E-5 pay isn't a lot and get's smaller when you buy your own gear. Also I'm open to any suggestions I kinda went off what was on the website but I've been out of the loop for the last several months. Well the list is below I'll be off the internet for a couple of weeks but if you have any questions my cell phone is XXXXXXXXXX. Also my AKO is XXXXXXXXXXXX but if you can send any e-mails to both since my AKO is sometimes hit or miss on whether I can log on or not.
Thanks again, Sgt XXXXXXXXXXX

Brian,
Sorry about not getting back to you quicker about the coins. Yesterday was a eventful day. I was on my roof of our HQ's fixing the camo nets when a mortar round landed 20 meters from me and couple of my guys blew me back a few, I felt 18 years old again, jumped off the roof 10 feet down. I didn't think I still had it in me but hell it was good training...HA. My guy got a little sharpnel but he's ok. Tough kid. enough war stories. If you could, I'd like 3 coins 2 for my snipers and of course 1 for me. When the new one come out I want to pay for them. It's my way of putting back into the fund for the snipers. Again brother you and your crew are doing an outstanding job. Thanks for your support. Here's my Italy address I don't trust the mail system here with coin deliveries. Things have gone missing in the Army mail system before. My old lady will send them to me in Afghanistan. She sends decent size boxes. Thanks.
Brian,
I think we are OK. Still need some "good" cleaning supplies, CLP gets us by though. I really don't know how you guys work and I know there are guys up north that probably get more action and need the stuff more. Let me know what info you need i.e. CC endorsement or whatever and I can get it. I went over your item list and came up with some stuff and attached it. Like I said before, I really even hate to ask for anything. We have been self sustaining for a few months now. Yes we are OCONUS, right on the border. Also, we departed the AO in the spring; however would leave the equpiment for our replacements.
Thanks
Sgt XXXXXXXXX
Still out in the field here, daily multiple rocket attacks, no hot water, you get the idea. Thanks again. Our team shirts should be in in Jan, give me some sizes for you and your guys, Jim
hey brian,
i have just returned to sand box and have fallen in on some XXXXX, i remember you having some contact info for parts and repairs somewhere in baghdad do u still have that info or do you have any thing in inventory that you can send my way. i have 2-XXXXX and 2-XXXXXX.
anything you can do for me would be greatly appreciated, read your article in the SOF and that is the truth, and i am still fighting to get snipers used and for the right reasons and situations.

SSG XXXXXXX
Hey brian, you guys are awesome in what you do for the shooters out there. My PLT is now in country.
(Hang on Haji ... BK 8))
Anything you can send would be great and much appreciated, I dont think we'll have a PX aafees for a while just the haji mart, so personal hygiene stuff is always nice. Right now were hunting down M14 parts (mounts, scopes, etc) Wind meter (any kestrel), our unit is just not in the mindset of sniping right yet, more focused on armor. Anything u send will be appreciated greatly.
Sir,
I was recommended to contact you by a couple people, XXXXXXXX and XXXXXXXX. Im a B4 qualified sniper TL deployed in XXXXX with XXXXXXXX. Sir i was hoping you could help support my team. There's some items that we are in dire need of that either im having trouble purchasing all of it and the army can provide it. Weve been on the ground here for about 2 months with 13 more to go. Theres been great sponsors around, xxxxxxxxxx sent us some flash suppressors and the various groups back home send us lickies and chewies, its great to know there are Americans that support our cause, thank you. Well to cut to the chase heres some of the things i really need. XXXXXXX also sir i know alot of you guys are law enforcement snipers or former military ones so any tips and tricks that have worked for you over the years id appreciate also well i hope you can help us and i appreciate your time.
thank you.
thank you so much for all goodies and gear. we all really appreciate everything you do for us. looking forward to hearing from you in the
future.
hey Brian,
the sniper i replaced went to sniper school and failed twice so i replaced him.
currently i carry my ammo in a m4 pouch can't carry more than one mag per pouch. i am sure your aware of how useless ACU's are in this environment and how the army ass ult pack lacks diversity.
so far the hunting has been good.
thanks again
Dave, Just recieved a second care package from you. Thank you so much, The equipment you sent will greatly assist in the security of my team. I really diddn't expect such generousity, If there is anything I can send you from this tour please let me know. Thanks again for your support on behalf of XXXXXXX and myself. Sincerely, Jim
Brian,
So not to bug ya bro. But are you able to maybe line up any of the gear request. If not no big deal you been a great help to us anyways.
brian,
how is everything? its been a while since I said hello. everything is good on this side. I just took over the battalion sniper section. So I have a lot of work ahead of me to build this team. its a whole new concept for the battalion. I am teaching them how to properly utilize us and what are needs are along with teaching my new section everything because alot of the guys are new to our way of life. Still putting your gear to good use, I have one of my guys who was just pulled to go to afghan, and I sent the gear with him for his XXXXX because were still pulling teeth to get stuff, but thats always an ongoing fight. oh yeah that master list of NSN's is great. Tell your friend who helped that we all appreciate it. take care
SSG.
Dave, Recieved a care package from you today, The guys are psyched about the magazines, batteries, popcorn ect... We appreciate you taking the time to reach out, we've had a hard couple of weeks out here and thank you for your contribution. The stars must have aligned to get mail out here so quickly, Thanks Again, Jim
Hey there long time no talk. I am still in Iraq and should be going home soon. Jst wanted to say I read your page in SOF it was fucking on target. I mean that my soldiers read it and was like hell yeah, that guy knows. So yeah, just wanted to say that and I think they mis-spelled your name. But anyway, must go, bad dudes to get
Later Baldy
Hey Brian thanks for the list. Things here are ok, we have alot of snipers that we'll have to deal with in this AO.
Mr. Sain,
Im back at FOB XXXXX for mid-tour leave. I sent Dave Agata a package to the address you gave me. It should be there in about 2-3 weeks. I had some stuff from sector and a souvenir shop here but when I got to customs they wouldn`t let me send anything that I didn`t have a receipt for so I`ll send the rest when I redeploy to xxxxxxx. I would write Mr. Agata but I don`t have his email address. I have some disposable cameras I'm gonna develop of leave and I`ll send you some pictures. Thanks alot, we count you guys as part of the team here.
Brian, SSGT XXXXXXXX. I am currently the Plt Cmdr for XXXXXXX Scout/Sniper's. We just took on XXXXXX new XXXXX and will begin their training during our AT next month. I was wodering if you had any Ghille gear? Netting, Jute, Tan canvas, vent material, Tripods and any other things lying around that may make the individual Marines wallet stay full. I know you understand the finacial burden of buying your own gear to operate as a Sniper. We are not set to deploy for another year but I want to give our new Marines all the help I can and any help from your Org. would be extremely helpfull. Thanks again for what you do. PS NewEnglandWarrior.com raised over 20 grand for a Marines family that lost their house to a fire. We got the Idea from your group and wanted to thank you for the great Idea.

Thanks again. Im working on the enjoyment factor but until all my brothers are back safe, Im gonna keep working to help them over there as much as I can. Im active national guard now, in a brand new infantry battalion, slotted for ranger school in early 09 and sniper team tryouts are in september! Should be putting my stripes on july 1st so now I will have my own joes to look after, with the new job, new unit, new MOS, and the baby on the way its all coming together. It was all well worth the 14 months in iraq. Thanks again and be looking for some donations as ive been putting out the flyers for you fellas and im still working on a benefit concert.

Gentlemen, I am very sorry for letting this go so long. I have XXXXXX Xguys in the section right now. At the moment we really don't have much of our gear back yet. I just received the XXXXXX back from theater last week. Anything that you guys could get me as far as training aids, like you mentioned Jeff, would be extremely helpful. As far as the ammo goes let me know what the pricing is and I'll have to see what we can come up with. I planned on using my tax refund money but that's been mostly used up recently. Respectfully, Brian
hey brain thanks for all the help. i really hope evrything is ok. as far as the equipment when the unit that is replaceing us get here i will see what they need or can us and leave it here with them and make sure they leave it going. thank you guys very much.
hey brain how is things at your home i hope everything is OK. i need an address to send you guys a thank you and a thing from our unit along with a flag we had flown for the people that have helped us. so at least we can give something back

Mr. Bourdo,
First of all thank you for your help and support. As you may know we have been in contact with Gunny XXXXXX here at XXXXXXXXX and he suggested we get in contact with you. The situation is that my battalion (XXXXX out of XXXXXXX) has had some problems with acquiring gear that could assist us in our missions. If you have anything that could aid us in our operations it would be greatly appreciated. Again thank you and If you have any further questions I can be reached at this email address or the address below. Sgt. XXXXXXXX

BK I got a couple guys out with XXXXXXXX in the Box. I just got word from them and they gave me a rather small gear list wondering if you had any of this lying around I thought they could use some mil dot masters, Write in the Rain data books for the new XXXXX (Scout/Sniper Assn has them for download on the net by the way) a thumbdrive or two, gunslinger pack Semper fi. I will try to scrounge up some shit. I am getting ready to deploy myself
Hey Brian:
Thanks for the heads up. I figured the stuff is going to the guy's in the sand box, but I am trying to tap all my resources on this one. These guys are hurting for shit. I got here two weeks ago and started a inventory on what they had and what they need. Lets just say the need list is way bigger than what they have. I had to tell them we are not mission capable at all.
I will stay in touch. If you know of any other ways of geting these guuys some help please let me know. Thanks again for all that you do for us brother.

Hello Sir, My name is SSG Matthew XXXXXXXX. I'm a XXXXX Team Leader with XXXXXXXXX we are currently deployed to Iraq, in XXXXXXX. I write to you today, cause I know first hand the impact you guys have had on my old team and fellow teams success. I was a sniper assigned to XXXXXXXXXXX. We deployed in 03-04 to Iraq when my buddy SGT XXXXXXXX wrote you asking for help. My current unit has XXXXXXXX, two man, target interdiction teams. I kinda oversee and try to help them as much as I can, being the only one in our company with combat experience as a sniper. All four have been to sniper school, and one even graduated as TOP GUN. I couldn't have been more proud. I have given them my personal drag bag and bi pods. And they have spent their own money buying things. The M-XXXX's these guys have didn't even come with bi pods nor did our unit order them. They are wearing IBA's. They have the basic issue assault packs and molle rucks. I not going to lie these guys don't have really anything. No suppressors, no shooting mats, no cleaning kits or rods, not even tan paint. So I ask for really anything that can make these guys more mission capable. I know you can't outfit them, but anything is greatly appreciated! Thanks for what you guys do! "Without Conscience, Without Remorse"-Matt

Doug,
Former Sgt. XXXXXXX here. You guys hooked it up for my platoon at 1st Recon Bn. last year, thanks again, the kit was helpful to say the least. It's been excruciating on the civilian side, I miss my brothers as well as operating. One of those brothers is about to go down range again for his 4th deployment and was hoping to pick up a few items for his platoon. If you could provide anything I'm sure he would be extremely grateful. His contact information is as follows:
Sgt XXXXXXXXX
Thanks again,
You guys are exceptional individuals.
You aren't kidding about ammo. I am having a hell of a time getting my hands on 118 LR.
We'll get by there is plenty of .50 around.
Ethan
Dave,
Holy cow, thanks for hooking the gear up for us. Means a lot to have someone backing us up.
Take care and talk soon.

Brian,
I'm a scout in a cav unit. Its not on the units books to qualify for sniper equipment. We basically have to do dope deals with the infantry units just to get rifles. We're making due for now. You guys are a huge help, as you were in the past before. Take care and talk soon.
Brian,
Things are busy here, spent 20 days on the last Op, ( did I mention that 45 is to old to play sleep in the dirt for 20 days) the heat was unreal, about 139 in the hides, and plenty of dust storms, but the guys did good and we bagged 12 shitheads. I will be ripping out with my buddies from XXXXXX Recon in XXXXXXX, I will try to set a pre order, the same as I ordered, mostly cleaning gear and get you XXXXXXXXX GySgt type who is a good sniper that worked with me at MARSOC Sniper course. Seems like I am always emailing you when you are battening down the hatches for a Storm. Stay safe, pray that your family and home are safe. Ken
Guys,
You are going to laugh at how little we have, and how much we are trying to get our hands on. First off, as I'm sure you know... anything and everything helps. We are down two XXXXXXXX optics, 2 3 day packs (assault packs), 2 spotting scopes. That was all lost to an efp. Besides that any simple employment kit gear, gloves, knives, multi-tools etc would help. Any accessories or maintenance items for 5.56 would be a huge help. I know that it is a wide list and long, but seriously anything i can get for our teams will help us 10 fold. Its pathetic that I cant even get a simple supply request for 3 day packs and molle pouches approved for my guys, ive been waiting 5 months for a replacement drag bag, God forbid I ask for any decent gear from them. Oh one last thing... we are in serious need of commo equipment, man pack carrier and imbiter headsets. Anyway, I will try to put together a more detailed list but we will be running long hours for the next few weeks so don't think I'm bailing out on replying to emails. Take care and thank you for all the help you have been in the past and everything you do to support us.

Hey Adopt a Sniper Dudes,
Still here in XXXXXXXX Afghanistan with a new area of operation in our near future. I have a few items I am still looking for.
Laser Range Finder (higher power and distance the better)
Heavy duty tripod
Drag bag
You guys sent me some of the Eberlestock bags which are great but an old school eagle would be great. I will hit the SGM up for a coin tomorrow and I can also send a bunch of cool pictures via email. I am getting the stuff together for a framed piece like XXXXXXXX sent you to include flag flown over camp etc. I will probably be back before I can get it for you though.

Thanks for all you do,

Hello,

Our communications equipment is also a major problem. The radios we operate with only come with hand mics that don't exactly help staying quiet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
