View Full Version : Letters from Jan 2007 to Dec 2007
My name is SSG XXXXXX.
I serve with the Army through XXXXXXXX.
This is my second time serving in XXXXXXX. My first time around, I was hit by an enemy hand grenade which took me out of theatre and nearly out of service. I thought I'd give it another go.
It is also my second time deploying as a sniper. It seems to be a trend for us snipers to be brushed aside when it comes to being outfitted with much needed gear. I feel that my buddy and I would not have been injured if we were better equipped. This second time around, it's the same old story.
I was wondering what a soldier might have to do in order to be "adopted". My team could very well use some gear to make us a more effective asset (ie. night optics, parascopes, mini binos, M4 suppressor etc.) I'm willing to lay down my own money at this point.
Please contact me if you could help us in any way. Thank you for all that you do. If I do not hear back from you, I still feel that you have an amazing organization and that you are doing great things for great Americans. Keep up the good work.
can't thank you enough. i'll let you know when i get it. wish i could send you some pics of our work but you know how that goes. from all of us thanks man.
i apprecite it. i think we're good for now. we've gotten alot of stuff on the past few weeks. but i will let you know if anything comes up.
Dave, I got the 2 boxes, one with the scope mounts and one with the magazines, t-shirts, socks and LRF w/ batteries. Thank you.
I was put in charge of the company DM program for the company because of my recent sucess story in XXXXX. Wouldn't have been a sucess story without your help, thank you.
I could use 3 more XXXX scope mounts for the other teams I just picked up and still waiting on an answer if there is any possibility of getting a Sage EBR/XXXXX Tactical Stock/Accurizing System or something to mount the bipods and a light to. I know they make rails that are added on but this stock seems to be the way to go for accuracy and not having to attempt to do a bedding job with no expirence. Also if you have got an update on the Mark IV IR scope?
The CAV scout snipers got their scope mounts yesterday and were VERY happy. I'm not sure if they have contacted you yet or not. I had to have them delivered to FOB XXXXXXXX from here.
XXXXXX has been a paradise for this stuff. A city untouched by the military until now. 4 IEDs in the last 2 days have hit our patrols and we took two into custody. Only because they got to the house before the cross-hairs were upon them.
Well, please let me know about the possbility of getting a stock or not. I'll check my e-mail in a few days. I have somethings in the works for the next couple days.
Well, thanks again and I'll keep an eye out!
I apologize for the lack of communication. We did get all the fabulous boxes you guys have sent and definitely enjoy them.
We have been on a very busy schedual the past 2 months and getting to a phone or internet has been more of a hassle due to sleep. Some big operations have gone on and we have been quite successful on these missions. I know operation squeeze play was on the news due to Oliver North being here.
The Phantom Packs are a great deal too us and, will be to the next SSP replacing us. The Plate Holders are useful when we start doing more missions xxxxxxxxxxx, since we will use xxxxxxxx.
We really thank yall for those items. They are a big help. Once again sorry for the lack of communication and we really appreciate what yall have done for us.
Take Care and Many Thanks.
My name is Sgt XXXXXXX. I'm a sniper XXXXXXXXXX. I'm in the smallest unit in the whole brigade and we need help. This is the story, we have 3 rifles, a 24 with no spare parts.. we have a 14 with no scope or scope mount, and a Barret that we cant even use. No binos, 1 spotting scope and our unit cant get us the rest of the equipment we need. We've struggled yet improvised in every way... We get the job done but it would help so much to have our needs met. I've never been much of a begger and I've found yalls website from time to time but I never thought I'd need to ask for help until now. I'm not too familiar with how to go about this so I found your email and I'm giving it a shot. I'm able to check my email pretty often so I look forward to your reply. Thank you so much for your time.
Please let me know what the request process is...I have a new Recon unit forming, and they have ZERO...I also have a TON of medical stuff if you want it. I think it will give you the ability to build some blow out kits and send them to the guys. Let me know what I need to do ...
Thanks again for the help and support that you are giving to not just us, but all of our service members. It means the world to know that in this time of personal and politacal change that there are those that still support the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines of this great nation.
Thank you once again.
Good afternoon (at least on this side of the world),
Received the package last night and all I can say is WOW! Haven't even had a chance to track down any of the guys yet but it'll definately be like Crismas for them. I've got to hand it to all of you, you do us a great service. Thank you much for everything. It is definately appreciated and definately needed. Cuts the huge, clunky, lunky loads down a ton and gives us better resourcing abilities. Can't express how much it means to all of us. Thanks again. Have a great day.
... take care brother. Stomp some bad guys CONUS for me. Tell all those civvies to not worry too much about us...we are all happy right where we are.
US Navy SEAL
3 more ARMS 18's would be great and I think I'm good for rings. I don't know what size scopes the company is trying to get for the rifles they are bringing up here and I would be safe to guess by the time they get optics for any of them we will probably be on our way home. Army supply system is great! NOT... If you have 2 more scopes and rings, that would take care of the guys working for me. If not then no biggie. I hate asking because you have done so much already. Either way we appreciate everything you have done to get us to this point. I'll be in touch. Thanks bro!
I just got my Solder of Fortune and saw your letter to Col Brown. This is something that I can sympathize with. I have purchased binoculars, a ACOG with Doc Optics, and aftermarket rail system and lights for my son. No way we will let him go without the best equipment possible. My son is 82nd Airborne XXXXXXX. I am forwarding a message that I sent to my son in Iraq. He was complaining about his binoculars and I was looking for a goodset for him. I found some for him from Steiner. (link below). I was talking to Customer Service at Steiner, and she told me that many times on request, that Steiner will ship Binoculars FREE to soldiers. They cannot guarantee any particular binos, whatever they happen to have. Anyhing is better than nothing. They will only ship to an APO.
I will send a donation myself as well. You are doing a great thing!! Don't stop. I hope this info will help in some way.
for my son, SPC XXXXXXXX
Sorry I havent gotten back to you..they had our commo shut down recently so there was no way to email you. Turns out they fly our mail in to the new base only on XXXXXXX. So I just got the box you sent out. The mags work great...took my guys out and started collecting dope today actually. Most of my boys have never shot XXXXX before ..but after today there all swearing by them. The mags and cleaning supplies really helped out..had to push some down to the line guys actually..there getting shit for supplies so when we go to shoot i tend to share the wealth with the lube and patches and qtips. Cant say thanks enough...the stuff youve sents helped out a ton..let us get to work out here. Like allways thanks for the gear!
Once again, we can not express our gratitude enough for everything you have done for us this deployment. Just an e - mail to let you all know that our battalions mail cut off date is XXXXX anything postmarked after the XXXXXXXX will be sent back to CONUS.
Doug, I changed my mail days to Thursdays. On 25 Jan I mailed 3 carriers to Mark, and 3 to you.
Some of my snipers from the Stryker Bde came in to see me last week. They had great things to say about you all. Thanks Guys you are the greattest. I'm proud to help in my own little way.
I was crusing your web photos and saw a Marine wearing one of my plate carriers. I'm motivated for a while more now.
I made a bunch of wolf slings for my Son's unit. He did not need many. So, I have a bunch left over. Do you want them? No charge, they cost me about $.50 each. I have about 50 or so.
My son deployes to Bagdad this Sunday. Prayers are always welcome. Until Victory!
We will be in the heart of this and at the tip of the spear deep in bad guy land. Could use some help with optics an EOTECH or two for our spotters since we have so much CQB to do here. If you could resend the X-mas package that would be great. Sorry for the change up, we have very limited use of the internet will try to keep you up to date of our status.
Hey thanks alot for the quick reply. I will definitley let you know what we might need and when and where we will be. My phone number is XXXXX. Once again thanks a lot. I really like what you guys are doing for us. Thanks. SPC
sorry if i'm abrrupt i got 2 mins left online but i wanted to thank you for the boxes i got them and dispersed the stuff amongst the guys. we got extended here for another few months so hunting season is closing late this year. i only have a couple of months on my contract so i decided to extend with my guys to do whatever i can. i'll keep you posted thanks again.
You no doubt get tons of e-mails all the time, so I don't expect a quick response to this. You guys have done a lot for me and my soldiers in the past, and I want to help.
I work at the US Army Sniper School, and I have access to a lot of the answers to a lot of the questions you get from dudes. Feel free to forward anyone on to me about anything. If I don't know, there are 25 other dudes out there with similar experiences.
If you don't need anything, that's fine, but please don't hesistate to ask. Coming from someone who knows how much americansnipers helps, I want to do what I can.
I got your package last night. The Laser Range finder is awesome and beats the hell outta milling car tires. Its special features are gonna be a great help. And thanks also for the spotting scope, its more has more power and half the size of the old one we were using. Thanks for your support.
My name is SSG Sam XXXX. I am with the XXXXX. from XXXXXX., currently stationed in XXXXX, Iraq. We have 2 sister platoons stationed north of us as well. As you well know sniper activity has increased in the region of late and we are faced with a problem. We have recently been issued XXXX Old M-14's, that require a lot of work, and have only iron sights. These days our enemy uses TTP that requires a closer look at his position so that collateral damage is not something that sends an innocent to ALLAH and our brethren to XXXXXX. In short we need a minimum of 5 scopes with mounts and rings. I can bet you gentlemen are taxed unbelievably with requests these days, but if you happen to have a contact or these spare items laying around we would greatly appreciate the help. Our new CO's name is XXXXXX. My email is XXXXXX. I am enclosing some pictures and a link or 2 for verification of who we are. If you have any further questions of us please don't hesitate to ask. I appreciate what you're doing regardless of what you can do for us. You Gentlemen will most certainly have a place in our hearts and in heaven.
Sorry it has been so long.....we are doing the relief in place with XXXXX and SSgt XXXXXXXX platoon. All is well, and there is one less insurgent out there now........so you know what that means. The snipers have arrived!
I have gotten gear from twisting out supply officers arm and going over his head to the battalion commander, but we are still hurting on a few little things.
Our address is:
Thanks and we will send some pics once I get on the other computer.
Hi Brian. Not sure If you remember me or not so I'll introduce myself again. I was the staff non commissioned officer in charge of Sniper School at XXXXXXXXXXX from XXXX to XXXX. You called me on the phone one time early on to introduce me to your program. Anyway, I am now back in the fleet as a sniper platoon commander and currently overseas. I am writing because I am trying to get some equipment for my Marines here and want to see if you can help out. Regardless, I appreciate all that you have done over the past few years. I have met and trained many of the recipients of the fruits of your labor and I know they appreciate it. Thanks for what you are doing.
You guys kick ass!!! We appreciate everything you guys do. Using the stuff you send to platoons is how they get through their hell holes here. Thanks again from all of us at XXXXXXX.
This is Lance Corporal Shelley from XXXXXXXX marine regiment Scout Sniper Platoon team XXXXX. I am currently an assistant team leader in my platoon. I just graduted the scout sniper basic course XXXXXXXXXX and am currently in the XXXXXXXXXXXX. My unit is deploying to XXXXXX and in great need of mission essential gear. I have just found out about your organization and have heard great things. If possible could your organization provide any support for my team or platoon ? I don't want to sound like I'm giving you a SOB story but we are hurting for gear. Plese contact me if this is a possibility. Any support will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You-- LCPL XXXXXXXXXX
Just wanted to say thanks again. Our team made use of all the gear you guys were able to shoot our way. We were xxxxxxxxxxxx so we will manage to be around when the fighting heats up again this summer. A big thanks to you all back home, the shadow box looked great and its always good to get an email here and there. Thought you'd like to know we have a guy in our Batallion who managed a 2400m kill with the XXXXXXXX. So we're doing good work here. Thanks again, and any morale items you can send will be greatly appreciated by all of us.
- SPC XXXXXXXXXXXXx
Thanks again for the help. We could use 3 LRF's if you can get them. I am still the POC. for the sniper section. Also, the packages you have sent sometimes sit at our brigade mail room for a long time before they give them to us, so if you want to send to my on post address that will work as well. I stay on the mail guys rear end at brigade b/c I don't want anything to "dissappear" like they tend to in the army. the address is xxxxxxxx
Thanks for your quick response this was my last stop before heading back out. We'll take whatever you send. Once again I would like to thank you guys for the tripod its stable form and quick adjustment have come in handy. Also I'm now a big fan of mil-tec that stuffs great. Please tell me if there is anything I can do for you guys.
Sgt XXXXXXXXX. Hope all is well. Things have been pickin up here lately but we're managing just fine for now. We need 5 plate carriers all together but if thats too many no worries, we're not too picky around here. Oh, our address is the same just to let ya know! Thanks a lot again, cant wait to hear from you!
I just recieved a sage stock in the mail that I had used in Ramadi, it is virtually in mint condition. However it is a missing screw that would fasten the barrel to the stock. nor does it come with its directions.
I can't keep it. I would not be able to sleep at night knowing that other teams in Iraq could use it. Therefore, I would like to either send it to you or send me an address of a team in Iraq that needs one. If you prefer me to send it, would you be able to tell how I could obtain that screw or be able to get it correct size.
My name is Staff Sergeant XXXXXXXXX. I am the platoon commander for a Marine Scout Sniper Platoon with XXXXXX Battalion, XXXXXX Marines. We are currently deployed to Iraq and will be until XXXXXXX.
The Sniper Platoon received your earpieces before we deployed and tested them on a few BZO (Battle Zero) ranges we went to prior to deploying. Currently, we shoot and zero our weapons bi-weekly and use your earpieces every time. They are much more comfortable and we have not had any problems with them falling out or not working. They fit perfect to the contour of the wearer's ear, so that is why they are the
preferred choice for ear protection.
After my Marines started using them, we received inquiries about how to get them and I referred all inquires to your website. I have been a Marine Sniper for seven years now and appreciate the support given by your company, you Mr. XXXXXXXXx, Mr. XXXXXXX and Mr. Doug Bourdo.
I am a native of Wisconsin, my father retired from the Marine Corps in 1988 and moved back to a town called XXXXXX, XXXXXX of XXXXXXX, between XXXXXX. So it was good to hear that you are located in Wisconsin as well. I was able to visit there last Christmas before we deployed, and it was good to be back home.
Gentlemen, I thank you for your support and appreciate how much generosity has been given to us by yourselves. You will never truly understand what it means to work over here and have the support system at home that we currently have. My father and uncle were veterans of Vietnam and I have heard how they were treated, it is great to know the Marines over here will not have that problem, as long as men like you are still around!
I must add, because I am very proud of the Marines in my Platoon, they are doing AWESOME over here. They have been able to use the training received back in the states, with gear provided by you, to accomplish all the missions assigned to them. The hunting has been very good here and an unknown amount of lives have been saved by the actions of these men.
This is getting long, so I will sign off with a final THANK YOU.
THANKS SO MUCH MAN .. WE GOT THE FIRST PACK . EVERYONE WAS VERY APPRECIATIVE. WE ARE GOING TO THANK ALL OF THOSE FINE AMERICANS THAT HELPED YOU ALL SEND US GEAR. WE ARE ALSO PUTTING SOMETHING TOGETHER TO SEND YOU ALL.
THANKS AGAIN BRO
To the Good People of Adopt a Sniper,
I cannot thank you enough for your help. We've already received packages from Militech, Mildot Enterprises, and another package of "household goods". I can assure you, that the contributions that you and others have made have been put to good use. It's the simple things that can and are making a difference here and we (the XXXXX Scout/Sniper Platoon) thank you for that. It's organizations like this that make things work.
My name is SFC XXXXXXXX. Currently I am assigned to XXXXXXXXX in XXXXXXXX, XXXXXX. I am writing today to find out how I go about requesting some assistance from your organization. I am very familiar with your organization since I have been a member of the US Army Sniper community since October 1997 (when I graduated US Army Sniper School). I am a 2nd generation Army Sniper (my Father was also an Army Sniper as well as my instructor) I have served in Sniper positions with the 3d ID, 1st ID, and 1st AD. From XXXXXXXX I served as the Senior Instructor at the US Army Sniper School, XXXXXXXX, XXXX under XXXXXXXX.
As I said before I am currently assigned to XXXXXXXX in XXXXXXX. My current position is requiring me to train 5 teams to serve as snipers with in Brigade Headquarters as part of TOC / TAC security and PSD. I have a platoon sized element with minimal sniper hardware. I was given 5ea rack grade XXXXXXX (2ea-H&R, 2ea-Winchester, and 1 Springfield ). I have had to request through my command to local purchase Sage stocks and Leopold optics for these weapons. Currently, my command won’t even support purchase of bipods, yet want us to be top notch performers. I have trained these soldiers personally yet feel like I am slighting them because as I Platoon Sergeant I can’t provide them or get them the equipment they should have. My commands answer to every request has been “no” up to this point because we have received a Change of Mission and are deploying a lot sooner then expected in addition to the fact that my platoon is not an MTOE authorized platoon. The latter excuse has caused us to beg, barrow, and “acquire” what we can.
Sorry for the sob story, I am just running out of time and options and am just looking for a little help. If you guys can do anything to help or point me towards someone who can, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, I just want to thank you for everything you have done for us snipers.
My name is MSgt XXXXXXX, I am with XXXXXX Recon Bn currently serving in XXXXXXXXXX. Gunny XXXXXXXX recently passed out several boxes of drag bag/packs, cleaning supplies, magazines, etc. THANK YOU very much for the support your organization has given to this Bn, specifically to the snipers of A Co and B Co. who have had great success enemy KIA) on the battlefield in support of combat operations in XXXXXXXXX. This could not be accomplished without material support from you and your organization. Please continue your great work. I would like to have your address so that we can show our appreciation to you and the contributors of americansnipers.org. Thanks again and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sorry i didnt return your email before, i dont know what happend. i am currently in XXXXXXXX with the XXXXXXXXX battalion. unfortunately due to the fact i lost the majority of my hearing in the battle of fallujah in 2004, i have been medically reclassed. while i am currently still with the sniper section, it wont be for much longer. as of right now we have all the equipment we need to complete our mission. there are obvious problems with the way we are used, but that is true across the board. i will keep you updated with our sniper sections situation and i will let you know if we they need anything. thank you for all you do for us.
respectfully, CPL XXXXXXX
I got the dragbag/assult pack the other day, you have no idea how much better it is than the old eagle bag digging into my shoulders, and now I cary twice the needed equipment. I have some Irqacy paraphernalia I can send you guys if you`d like to auction some of that stuff off. Just let me know what and where to send it. Thanks again for your support.
I am a Scout/Sniper deployed with XXXXX here in XXXXXXXXXX. I just wanted to write a quick letter to you and everybody that is a part of the organization and tell you all thanks for the support that you have shown me and the other snipers here in country. You have helped us out tremedously by providing gear that would other wise be difficult to get. The packs have helped us out greatly with the success and the out come of our missions. We appreciate the support and help that you guys give us, thank you.
Since I have gotten home from Iraq lots has changed. i have changed battalions and am getting use to my new platoon. I am the squad designated marksman program. we are trying to get things going. we have a great leader who loves training and is motivated to train. we are having some problems with equipment like bore snakes, mil-dot masters, rings and XXXXXXXX mounts. the army is just slow in getting these things to us. I appreciate what you did for us in Iraq, but we are at least a year out from going so I am sure that your equipment is needed for troops who are closer to going. thanks for keeping me in the loop.
I’m back in the states now. Thanks for all your support. I passed along the equipment to the xxxxxxxx guys that relieved us xxxxxx. I figured they could use it more than me LOL.
Mr Mark Ratzlaff,
Matt here...thank u for writing again...i keep in touch with brian often..but im getting a medical discharge...have two disc's in my back that are pushing thru my spinal cord...i am along with my brother having a website go up that gonna focus on helping seriously wounded soldiers(amputees)and such that cant work after they are out and thru donations will help them out as much as we can...should be up in the next week or so..and i will let u guys know the address so u can check it out...thank u for all you guys do..matt
The package has arrived and all its contents have been put to good use. Could not have asked for anything better, the range finder has been put to use and is better than anything the military could have gotten us. Thanks again Dave for all the help and all the supporters who are helping us out over here.
Brian, hey brother I made a mistake in my last email ... If you were putting my needs out there I have to make a correction on the address, our company is at;
Thanks for everything, thanks for putting our needs out there. Its really hard to find people like you guys out there in the world now a days, everyone seems to forget. Just wanted to reitterate how much we appreciate you!!
Thanks again and God Bless!
"One shot....One Kill"
Yes we did get the second package today. Awesome man. You all are a life saver. I really don't even know how to tell you how grateful we all are.
Recently one of my buddies in my platoon called a friend that he knew that was with the NRA to try to get some LRFs and Spotting scopes ...
Turns out an email made its way all the way to General Peter Paces desk and quickly to our BCs desk. Needless to say my buddy caught some heat from trying to go to an outside source for gear. I don't know if it was politically driven because it was the NRA, but a lot of people caught heat. Anyways our BC and whatever general told them that they are not going to take anything from them and basically cut that tie.
I'm glad that you all are able to help us and it is under their radar.
Higher ups just don't get it.
My name is SSgt XXXXXXXX and I am stationed at XXXXXXXXX. I am in charge of our sniper Program (XXXXX teams) here at XXXXXXX and their are a few equipment items I have tried to get my XXXXXXX to purchase but due to the budget we have not received any of these items and it doesn't look like we will. XXXXXXXXX and myself are going to deploy to XXXXXXX. From now untill we deploy we will be training to prepare for our mission in XXXXXXXXX. Currently we have our XXXXXX with a XXXXXXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXXXXX and a set of XXXXXXXX Binocs. We need a decent spotting scope " Leupond Gold Ring 12-40x and tripod if possible but anything will work better then the old Binocs we have". This is the main item we need but it wouldn't hurt if we could get a Kestrel weather meter, mil dot masters, garmin GPS, and a 308 cleaning kit to include Hoppes copper solvent/Boreguide/Boresnake. If we are able to get a decent spotting scope and any other support equipment it will greatly enhance our training in preparation for our upcoming deployment and it will definately get used manytimes over during our deployment. Any support no matter how small will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
I first want to say thank you for your support to the Marine Sniper plt 2/24 when I served in 2004-2005. I served under XXXXXXXX and also worked with him as a sniper under XXXXXXX with XXXXXXXX in Iraq. Jeff advised to contact you reference any thing that I can help out with in support of our Snipers and or donate any gear.
Just advise of any help you need. I can be contacted at any time via email or by cell: XXXXXXXXX
Oh, and thank you for posting my picture on your site, I am the Marine Sniper XXXXXXXXXXX.
Our unit got back stateside about 3 months ago. The gear sent really made our jobs alot easier. If it was not for the gear especially the spotting scope we would not have been able to get the triggerman of an I.E.D that wounded me and two of my men. Once again thanks for the support. Keep up the great work.
I ran into the platoon SGT for the scout and the sniper platoon in the new FOB I'm at and they are hurting. I stopped and talked to the Scout because he was drawing his XXXX and there wasn't a scope on it. I asked the question and got the answer, they were broken and the supply has been dicking around and said they can't get more. Seeing as I have been transferred to another unit and they don't have the DM program set up yet I gave them the Mark IV, and rings you sent me, both the short and the tall ones, the Leupold spotting scope and a couple mounts. The sniper PSG, who just re-enlisted to be an instructor at the sniper school, didn't know where to turn to get his guys what they needed so here I am, Seeing if you guys can help. They are with XXXXXXXXX. They are out most of the time so I figured I could do the leg work and help these guys out. Seems like they need it. I don't see the DM program taking off with the company I was sent to. Same mission just no rifles. I guess I'll have to do for now. The wish list consisted of any optics you can afford to send, cleaning supplies that they can carry, scope rings, ARMS 18 and 22's (they have rails to mount IR lights but only mount to the #22), spotters, bino's, LRF, drag bags, lens pens, mil dot master, waterproof paper, packet weather meters, scope covers, Leupold ScopeSmith Ballistic Chart (nice to have), scope sun shades for the Mark IV, Alumina Intensifier for the Mark IV, bore-sighter, data books, Angle Cosine Indicators, Ghillie suits or material to repair the ones they have although the weather is getting hotter so they will probably go away soon. That's all I can remember right now. When they get back from this mission they are on now I'll run this list past him to see if I missed anything. Just use my address for now and I'll more then likely put him in contact with you directly but his limited time may just make me the go to guy. I believe I have found my calling.
Thanks again Dave, you guys are amazing!
THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL OF THE GEAR. IT WAS MUCH NEEDED AND WE ALL APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH. SORRY FOR THE DELAY IN THE RESPONSE TIME, BUT WE WERE IN THE PROCESS OF DEPLOYING TO XXXXXXXX. WE ARE HERE NOW AND XXXXXXXX. WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN WE GET THERE. IF IT WASN'T FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU WE WOULD BE VERY SHORT AND UNPREPARED ON THE EQUIPMENT SIDE OF THE HOUSE. THANKS FOR ALL YOU AND THE OTHERS FROM ADOPT A SNIPER HAVE DONE FOR US. I WILL GET YOU A BATTALLION COIN FROM OUR SERGEANT MAJOR ASAP. I'LL MAIL IT HOME AND HAVE MY WIFE MAIL IT TO YOU. WILL GIVE YOU AND UPDATED ADDRESS WHEN WE GET ONE AS WELL. PLEASE FORWARD THIS ON TO ALL THE OTHERS AS WELL PLEASE. FROM ALL OF THE SNIPERS HERE IN XXXXXXXXXX WE THANK YOU AGAIN.
TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS.
I'm back in country again. I came back over here in june and got shot in aug. Took a big chunk of my leg out but im back to 100% ill ttry to find my pics of my injury for ya. Im in charge of all the snipers in the battalion now. I got XXXXXXXXXXX teams under me. It kicks ass. Were def recking shop over here. Did you see that CNN clip about XXXXXXXXX. Those were my boys on there. The guy rocking the XXXXXXXX was my old RTO now hes a team leader. Well anyway my boy back home is good, hes growing up fast as heck. Cant wait to see him. Hate to throw some buisness in here but my Supply guy cant get us any XXXXXXXX cause he's worthless. if you have any laying around it would be a great help. Ok man ill talk to ya soon and THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU AND YOUR PEOPLE ARE DOING FOR US.
Hey Dave just wanted to let you know that I am wearing that pack out, it is awesome, I am going to try and get my team leaders the pack also, I cant believe how useful it is. Anyway, hope all is well, we are preparing to get activated and I am trying to get my guys through some schools to get them ready. If you need anything give me a hollar. Stay motivated and once again thanks for the pack.
Dave we've got an emergency...
How is everything going back in the states? Got some photos of the past month headed your way once I get some more from the other snipers. We sure are glad you guys help so much. It means a lot. We received the plate carriers a few weeks back! We were using them that very night we got em, thanks a lot guys. We got a problem with one of the scopes yall sent a long while back. One of the guys we trained up got hit by an IED a few weeks ago and so did his rifle. He's ok though, got a bad concussion but he's living it up back in the states now. As for the XXXXXXX and the scope.... There isnt much left.. Our only XXXX is being taken away now because another unit on the other side of town needs one. we just got 3 old XXXXXXXXXX in last week. The XXXXXXXX never came in so we're not even gonna worry about it anyways, got an EOD buddy who's letting us barrow 1 right now. So we're down to 1 scope.. We have 3 winchesters, 1 springfield and 1 knock off. We have 2 of those rail systems yall s ent for the XXXXXX, I know we're asking a lot of you guys... but could you send us a few more things? Looks like we'll be solely devoted to XXXXXXXXX now so what we need are a few more scopes, a few more of those XXXXXX rail systems and a few more of the ARMS scope mounts. Our address is still the same but I was wondering if I could get an address for you guys or should I just go off of the address that comes on the boxes yall send? Just know theres a lot of folks in my higher up that want to thank you guys so I'm gonna need a good address from you guys. We'll gotta run here, hopefully I'l be able to get back on soon or maybe wilson will be able to get on and send you guys some SKT pics. Thanks again guys!
I know I have not written in a while. I just wanted to touch base and let you know all is well for the platoon here. The guys have been doing an awesome job. I had two of them shoot insurgents from over 1000 yards the other day. I hope all is well back home and the crazy Wisconsin weather isn't too bad.
Sorry I haven't gotten back with you sooner. It's been really hectic here. Ive recently moved to XXXXXXXXXX at XXXXXXX. I.E.D's have picked up in the area of late. The last 2 weeks in a row my squad has been hit. no injuries . God's angels most definitly are with us. Please tell the contributors from me that they will never know the appreciation we here feel for them. Not only is it nice to know people know how hard it is for us to do the job without the equipoment but it's nice to know people are thinking of you. This place, XXXXXXX, is pretty much cut off from everythng as is XXXXXXXXX. It's truly a shit hole XXXXXXXXXX but never the less we call it home. Again please send my heartfelt thanks.
Your friend and brother in arms.
got the box you sent. thanks it was much needed
Hey we just got the two boxes that you sent us. And from all the guys you guys are life savers. Thanks alot for the GPS. Sorry this is short, but i have to run.
Talk to you guys later
I can't even thank you enough, this is great to be receiving the equipment I need.
Hey mark on wednesday im going back down to Austin SWAT to shoot with xxxxxxxxxxxxx and the guys Ive got a hell of a program going on now and I was wondering when U Guys could make it down to Texas Ive Got Alot of info and I should see you around the 5th of Aug back in xxxxxxxxxx, my commander says that u guys are just as much soldiers as we are, and anything that you do for our troop reflects on our unit as the last actually cavalry unit standing in the united states army, he wanted to thnk you personnaly , and i told him you guys just would enjoy a simple handshake and to train with us. He says thats the ,least we could do for a group of people so dedicated to ensuring that our lives are safe by outfitting us with equiptment that we nor the army cant buy, buy the way I got some good news I tlooks like were going to try out the new bodyarmor the army is supplying, were getting re outfittted on thursday, I hope it is as good as the army claims.....And I Just wanted to say a special thanks to all the people and organizations who donate equiptment to soldiers in need, you thoughts will never go unappreciated, without you we couldnt be as strong as we are today, BRAVE RIFLES
I spent a lot of time talking to xxxxxxxxxx about some of the things you were able to do for their team and was wondering if you could do the same for us. If so do you need any credentials? Do I need to register? We are in desperate need of your help.
As far as mounts and rings we are good. I am short a scope for my XXXX and we have a scope on an XXXXX thats buggered up but still usuable. Mr Dillon from brownells set me up with rings and a mount for my XXXXXX so all I need is a scope. I would prefer a mildot scope but I will take whatever I can get may hands on. other stuff we are short on is surefire batteries, small binos, and any kind of small rucks/assualt packs. We would be thankful for anything you can spare. Thanks a million guys!
Received the mags, cleaning supplies, sweets, and an absolutely gorgeous Leupold scope yesterday! I immediately put the scope on the rifle, and was on my way out to zero, when we received a call for an IED. I sometimes gun for the EOD crew, so I dropped what I was doing to help out.
The call was bogus, it was a bait and kill setup: an AIF infiltrator (since detained) called it in to ambush and kill the EOD response team. While in the kill zone at the site, 2 AIF were wounded by M-4 fire at ranges exceeding 500 meters. They got up and limped away ... When the QRF arrived in a couple of Bradleys, they ran one AIF over, scoring the driver -of all people - a confirmed kill, our only of the day.
I sure needed the capabilities of long-range accurate fire, since we were receiving RPG-7V fire from 700 meters away. Tim, thanks for all that you guys are doing - we really need it. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.
I think you already sent me about 30 of those grips, and what we didn't need we already have been using to barter with. Thank you. I will be in touch on the address no problem. I also wanted to let you know I may have been a little brief in my last email. Our platoon is growing, but the original teams (of which I was a member until I was moved to spread the experience) are doing fine on equipment at the moment. The new teams are the ones that need the items I requested. As usual the demand for our services has out grown the funding at the moment. Any way I just didn't want you send me more stuff than we really need (especially where high dollar items are concerned), although I'm sure every one wants more. I would hate to think that we may take from other teams out there that need more than we do. One last request, if you can get a hold of any GPS units we could sure use them. That was one thing I completely forgotabout that we are short on as well. Thanks again for everything, we really appreciate your support and all your effort. Thanks again for the LRF!!!! It has already helped make one bad guy a dead bad guy.
My name is SGT XXXXXXXXX and last week I was contacted by my mother, XXXXXXXXXXXX of all people that she had been in touch with you. I had heard much about Adopt A Sniper but had no clue that you had changed your name. My previous SEO had been in contact with your company but I myself have never. First of all thank you for talking to her, she was extremely excited about the information you were able to give her and it helped to understand the problems that I am going through to get the proper equipment for my team. I am a US Army Sniper School grad as well a SEO grad and have attended multiple privately run long range shooting schools. I was recently moved from the Battlion Sniper Section down to act a Company sniper section leader due to the army moving to the smaller JSS operations in Iraq. I was happy about the move to JSS operations but not when I found out that the company I am supposed to be leading a sniper section for has NO equipment for my mission. I have made many equipment requests, none of which have proved to be any help. I keep being told that it will be taken care of but Ihave no confidence in that promise. It is apparent that the officers in the company do not realize what it takes to sucessfully employ a sniper team. They think we are just a bunch of guys who can shoot further then they could on their best day. I take my job and my life style very seriously and to be honest I am not confident in the least about taking my team to combat as ill-equiped as we are. If there is anyway that you know of obtaining any equipment my team and myself would be in extreme debt to you. I understand that the service you provide is a thankless job and extremely hard, please know that everything you do whether I ever see it or not is greatly appreciated buy myself and everyother member of the sniper community that I know. I would extremely appreciate hearing back from you whenever you have the chance. I often travel to shooting competitons and my not have access to my email so I have added my cell number at the end. Again thank you for everything you do.
I received the packages from you. Thank you very much I have spread it all out to our teams. It is hot as hell over here... We all appreciate everything you all do to help support us.
First of all i would like to thank you for thinking of us out here. We have been in country for xxxxxxxxxx. Our platoon has been doing an exceptional job. All of the items that have been sent from your organization have been used and greatly appreciated. We should be xxxxxxxxx. All of our teams send there appreciation. thanks for everything.
Wow! thanks dude, I am sure the guys will be stoked on those grips!
THNX FOR THE RETURN EMAIL AND CALL. IT IS A HUGE REILEF TO KNOW THAT YOU GUYS ARE BEHIND US. BUT IT SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME WHEN I CALLED UR NUMBER BACK BEFORE LISTENING TO THE VOICEMAIL AND IT WAS THE POLICE ON THE PHONE. TOOK ME A MIN. BUT I FIGURED IT OUT. HERE IS THE INFO YOU REQUESTED. I AM HAVING IT SENT TO MY FIANCE'S BECAUSE I CANT HAVE BOXES SENT TO MY BOX AND I DONT WANT THE COMPANY TO SEE THE BOXES OF EQUIPMENT AND CLAIM THEM AS COMPANY PROPERTY. I DONT HAVE A GREAT LIST BUT I HAVE A BASIC ONE, ANY ADITIONAL EQUIPMENT IE: BIPODS, ANGLE SLOPE INDICATORS, ECT WOULD KICK ASS.
THNX BRIAN. IF THERE IS ANYTHING WE CAN DO FOR YOU OR AMERICAN SNIPER DONT HESITATE TO ASK.
Just wanted to say thanks again, the support has been insane. I have already received Mildot Masters and spotting scopes, mini binos and monoculars from Vortex optics. Stuff started arriving way sooner than I could have expected, I'll suprise my snipers with the gear on the 9th. I'm sure they will be as blown away as I was. I wanted to ask one more favor. Please, please give me an address that I can send some type of thank you to. I'm sure my soldiers will want to send you something themselves, and I want to have an address for them. No BS, when I started getting stuff it was kind of tear jerking. You guys rock like KISS.
BKS REPLY: They call me Doctor Love ... 8)
AND HIS REPLY BACK: I'm sure they do, but I still need a physical address for you to send "Doctor Love" something :)
I checked with the guys and it isnt much that we need all around. Our team leader said he could use a sunshade for his Leupold M3 scope on his MXXXX and also any sort of medium ruck or riflemans type pack. If at all possible like I said I would love to get my MXXXX up and gunning, i could do so with some rings and a scope and im pretty sure I can work with the stock unless ya'll got those too. If thats not possible a scope for my MXXXX would also get me in the action, it has a flattop upper so its ast to outfit. Other than that some basic cleaning gear, surefire batteries, and maybe some extra scope rings. What ever you can send us I will either send back when we are done so you can get it to others or I will pass it on. Once we get home I will be leaving active duty and joining the national guard in hopes of becoming a full fledged sniper. I have learned alot out here and one thing is how to get the job done in way less than perfect conditions with gear thats even worse! I appreciate what your group does for us and would definately like to help out by doing some sort of fund raiser. One of my best friends and fellow snipers Sgt XXXXXXX was seriously wounded and paralyzed last august by an enemy sniper, he is now in a wheelchair. He is slowly regaining some movement in his arm and we are hoping at the very least he will be able to shoot again, if not ride his harley. I promised him I would pick up where he left off and I'm doing my best.
I am writing you, as I am sure many do, to ask for donations. It is with a heavy heart that I do so, as I am not one to ask for charity. I am however bound to, as I am responsible to do all that I can to ensure the survivability of my snipers. I believe that I have extinguished all other hopes, and this is my last resort, let me explain my situation.
I “grew up” in the army at 2nd Ranger Battalion. It was there that I learned how the army was supposed to work, and also became introduced to the science of sniping. It was a difficult decision to leave active duty, so difficult in fact that after a short period of civilian life; I decided to enlist in the National Guard. I deployed with the National Guard to Iraq in 2004, and returned in December of 2005.
Once we returned, our unit realigned as a “heavy maneuver battalion”, thus creating a sniper section that prior to, did not exist. It was then that I was asked to help form and lead our sniper section. It has been quite the battle.
A “heavy maneuver battalion” has 2 tank companies, and 2 mechanized infantry companies, all four very expensive. I have a 10-man section that is almost always overlooked. I don’t mean to speak poorly of the military or my unit, but the situation is grim. Snipers are the bastard children of the military, praised when they need us, and shunned when they do not. We don’t get the funds or equipment to train the way we need in order to be combat effective.
My command does not understand the precision machines that we are, and the support that it takes to keep us running. Unfortunately, as we both know, they still maintain high expectations regardless of support. I try to absorb some of the cost myself, purchasing cleaning materials, manuals, ballistic software, using my own optics for training, the list goes on, as does the cost.
The morale is plummeting in my section. I have the few motivated troops in my unit, and no equipment to train them with. We request, borrow, and beg for this equipment, but to no avail. If the regular army has it bad, imagine the National Guards budget! My unit is not currently deployed, but I have been recently. Snipers are in heavy demand, and rightfully so. I have reason to believe we will be going again real soon, a first for many of my men.
I want to prepare these guys as much as I can. I owe it to them and their parents, it is my job, and I must remain tireless. And this is why I write to you, to ask for help from someone who knows what it’s like. Any help your organization could provide would be a godsend. I know that on top of the usefulness the equipment will provide, knowing that someone out there cares would be a HUGE morale boost for my troops.
I want you to know also, that regardless of your ability to help with supplies, your support for our community does not go unnoticed. In this day of anti-patriotism, CNN, 19 year old know it all, political agenda dummies, it is nice to find a fellow gunslinger who knows the pains that we
I have included a list of specific items that are severely hampering our training and combat effectiveness. Some of these items are costly and I hate to even ask, but as I mentioned earlier, as a leader I am not afforded the luxury of pride.
Again, any help would be a godsend.
God bless you and your organization, gentlemen like yourself and those who make up your organization are the reason we put ourselves in harms way.
May the wind be calm, The targets be far, And may your bullets find their mark,
If you dont mind going through me to send stuff that would be great. Our Psg is ok but I have a feeling he might rat-fuck any packages that arent totally for him. them. The XXXXXXX is a great unit but is extremely under funded. We really need just basic stuff that commanders say we can do without, so heres a small list. LRF's, Mars rails for the XXXXX (to mount a XXXXX in front of the XXXXX), Angle/Cosign indicators, XXXXXXXX magazines or something that will fit an XXXXXX (I have 3 20 rounders and 2 10 rounders, the team in OE got to them first), Harris Bipods with swivel legs, 7.62 bore snakes/cleaning kits, scope rings, scope lens covers, im sure im forgetting some stuff but anything basic you can think of we prolly dont have or one of my guys or another teams can surely use it. If its something expensive and you want to double check before sending let me know and Ill let see if its something that we can use of another soldier would be better off with. And that stuff I listed is a little pricey, I know. If there are other things like lens pens, map markers, lens covers whatever that are less expensive by all means that would be great too. Anything is better than nothing to guys who dont have much in the means of family or friends in the states.
Take it easy man,
Adopt a Sniper and supporters,
Today was an incredible day spent with numerous soldiers of past wars. I had the honor of placing Memorial Day wreaths on 6 monuments of various wars. It was spent with WWII, Korean, Viet Nam, and Iraq/ Afganistan veterans. Men with stories that would tare at every emotion in both your mind and heart. Having this privilege, I thought of my own experiences and share them with these men. It was a day that will sit in my mind for years to come.
Self reflecting for a bit, I thought of how fortunate I am to have men like you supporting my efforts and I just want to say thank you. As I have perused through my gear both current and past, some of which has been provided by your organizations to ensure the success of my numerous past missions, I prepare for another deployment and once again receive your support. As I have spoke to some of you in the past, you express to me your wish to be with me in that FFP (final firing position) helping to keep terrorism in its own back yard instead of on American soil. Well my friends, every time I dig into that sniper bag or turn on that surefire flash light with the batteries or equyipment that your organization has donated to our cause, you are with us. Every little piece of equipment that you search out to ensure the success of each mission aides in the guarantee of our return home so I can continue supporting events like today.
Knowing many of you and the personal time you put into helping the cause through selfless sacrifice makes doing my job more of an honor each day while spent in the sand box. Just as each soldier should not be forgotten for his courage and selfless acts so shouldn't you. It is citizens like all of you back home who support our efforts during some very trying times in that FFP or plain old in the shit, that make every mission worth its blood, sweat and tears.
To all of you who even though are not on the firing line, I express my deepest gradititude for all your support. God Bless you and all your supporters on this incredible holiday.
God Bless America!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, I just came across your website and think what you are doing is great. Its nice when soldiers who are out on 72-96 hour missions get to come home to something other than a letter from mom and dad. Its nice to know other people have an idea of whats really going on out here. Im a sniper with the 173rd ABN out of Italy and just recently got to XXXXXXXXXX. Since LRS disbanded we have also collapsed our sniper/recon section into 5 six-man teams and its working out well. Is there a way I can sign myself and my guys up to receive stuff from you organization? If so I'd appreciate it, internet access is limited so please bear with me if I take sometime to respond to an email. Thanks again and best from everyone in the community.
I received the scope and it is going to work perfect!
Thank you everyone for your amazing support!
I will do my best to keep you updated when we are in country so you get some feedback on all your hard work.
I can't even thank you enough, this is great to be receiving the equipment I need.
Got some news for ya. I'm back in the states. I was medivac'd out for spinal and brain injuries I received in an IED blast. I'm still breathing and have all my limbs so I'll heal. I'm not too sure about the gear that was with me but I'll find out it's fate when my stuff gets sent home to me in a couple months. I'm supposed to be going to a poly-trama center in VA or FL sometime this month. Just wanted to tell you thanks for all of your support while I was deployed. I'll keep you updated if you like?
Brian, I just wanted to send a thanks for all you have done for us... I am no longer serving with my brothers but I am working on a county sheriff job so that I may continue my service. My roommate is currently a deputy with the same agency and an Army sniper as well.. He also would like to send his gratitude for your support. I hope that all is well with you and your family and once again wouold like to just say thank you..
As far as number of guys goes XXXXXX is the most we would need, and anything extra I can find guys who need stuff. I will surely get you some patches/coins and I am working on a fundraiser with some friends/bands back in the states that we are going to do in the Ft Carson, Co area to raise money/gear for you guys and what you do. I feel that by putting back into the group that helps me and my guys then things will keep working well for everybody. I think with just doing a local concert we can raise maybe a few thousand dollars, but I have quite a few friends who play in national touring acts and I have mentioned this to them with some positive feedback. Well I thank you very much and appreciate what you do, it means alot to know there are people who care. I wont be around the computer much in the next few weeks but I will let you know when I receive the package.
Well I'm close to wrapping up my 4th deployment (1 Afg, 3 Iraq). I can't even begin to explain to you guys how much you have helped us. Keep up the good work and shoot straight.
I am the only one of our guys with any training and that was XXXXXXXXX. However despite that lack of training we will still be performing Sniper ops when we go downrange. XXXXXX
ps I will look into that list of what the ARMY will NOT purchase for us. Thanks again.
Well this is SSG. XXXXX from the SNIPER section here in Iraq with the XXXXXXXXXX, just wanted to stop by and thank you all for supporting all the SNIPERS that are in the military, people seem to forget the value of us till war comes around and we are again called to duty, we thank you for the equipment that you all had sent us in the beginning of our deployment it help us out a lot, and im sure it was the same for every other SNIPER you all helped out, we here thank you and its because of people like you that we are able to do our jobs.
U.S. ARMY SNIPER
Thanks Brian. Got the Tripods yesterday. It's really nice having guys out there that understand. Thanks Again....
Sorry for the delay--we've been out of the loop trying to get all our equipment shipped to XXXXXXXXX. Words can't say enough for the equipment you've sent so far. The snipers were thrilled to get things you sent--especially the small laser range finder---the sniper team leaders were thankful.
Got that box today! Thank you very much! The cleaning supplies are very handy and the snuff made my buddies happy as hell! As far as "small" rucks stuff similiar to the blackhawk 3 day assualt or raptor packs? The "3 day" asssualt type packs work well as they arent to big but still allow enough gear, also the blackhawk (or other brand) type recon buttpacks are super handy! The ruck and webgear you sent is already being put to use as i write this. Thanks a million!
I am an Executive Officer for the XXXXXXXXX Airborne Infantry currently deployed to XXXXXX. Let me start of with saying thank you for the support you give us and our brothers in arms, means more to us than you can ever imagine. Recently we have been trying to acquire some equipment for our Sniper teams and our Heavy weapons. We have continuously put in request for items through our unit channels, but the response is always the same, not enough funds. Our men are doing their best, but the WPNS are receiving a lot of punishment due to the missions and patrols they do. Also in our area of operations, patrols aren’t the only place we receive contact. We are constantly receiving direct and indirect contact at our patrol bases causing us to use and require more sniper teams then anticipated. We have been trying to get modification kits for the XXXXX we already have in order to mount equipment for use with our night vision devices but as I mentioned before, supplies and money are not forthcoming. In their desperation, some of our men have begun to go on the internet trying to buy the equipment out of pocket. Some of them came upon your sight and brought it to my attention, and I thought I would convey our situation. These are some of items that we could use: Modification kits for MXXXX (Enhanced Battle Rifle Stocks), bipods for the XXXXXX, Leupold rifle and spotting scopes, Dry Graphite lubrication, range finders, wind tables, cleaning kits, drop compensators for 173 grain 7.62mm. Any or all items will help us be more effective on our missions and will be greatly appreciated! Once again thank you for all your support!
Got the box of binos today! Amazing! A big thank you from all of us. I have spread them out and they will come in very handy. I'll keep you posted. As for now Im off to hit the rack. Good lookin out Brother.
Whatever you send will be great. I still want to know when the OTF will be available! You have done so much, you and the whole community have been great through all of this. I have paid it forward since I have been here. There was a kid who wanted to be a sniper for the Army but he was seriously wounded in Iraq in an IED, I gave him one of the coins you sent me and he REALLY appreciated it. I gave another infantry guy who was wounded in Iraq one of the pins you sent and another guy one of the Dark Ops hats. Everyone seemed to be in a better mood, like I was when I got the package and like I was when I was able to share some joy with them in their time of crisis. You guys have helped more people then just me with the equipment you have sent over then you'll probably ever know. We all thank you and our brother snipers for everything. I'll be home by 1400 tomorrow. I can't wait. I have your number and your e-mail of course so I'll keep in touch. Thanks again bro for everything!
I want you to know how much both the soldiers in my Sniper Section and I truly appreciate all that you and the men of the "Adopt A Sniper" organization have done for us both currently and in the past. We understand that you greatly appreciate all that we do while deployed and we respect all your support. It is citizens like you in this Great Nation of ours that makes every minute spent overseas in some foreign nation fighting deviate minded terrorists all worth while. You are the template of True American Patriotism that seldom shows itself in these trying times. We forget that freedom is not truly free. It is held secure by the blood, sweat and tears of young men and women deployed overseas. Thank you for not being that citizen walking through life with liberal blinders. Hang in there my brother because the future is only going to be more taxing on our ideologies and beliefs that we have fought for generations before us. For as long as God is willing to allow me to protect this Great Country of ours with the support of you and your colleagues, my men and I will always have this Nations back no matter how horrible the circumstances.
God Bless you and all that you stand for.
United States Army
I just wanted to say thanks for all of your support and your e-mails of encouragement. This isn't how I wanted to leave Iraq but I know that God was with me to allow me to return in better shape than some of the other guys I flew home with. I'm currently assigned to a Warrior Transition Battalion at XXXXXX and will soon be going to a polytrauma center in either XXXXXXXXX or XXXXXXX for rehab to teach me how to remember and concentrate again. Speech therapy and some other tools that I will need for my everyday life. I get really bad headaches and dizzy to the point that I fall over. My wife and two step daughters are here with me taking care of me because the military isn't doing a very good job of it. My wife has been an advocate in contacting the right people to make changes in the system and it seem now that things are getting changed for the soldiers who follow me home with injuries won't have to live the hell I have been subjected to myself. It's pretty disappointing that I have served proudly for almost 17 years, almost all active duty, and I get treated like a second class person because I'm injured and no longer any use to the military. Lesson learned. I'm just glad that I have the support of people like you. Although you can do anything as far as my treatment here it's a good feeling knowing that I have brothers who care, Thank you all for what you do. The care packages and e-mails made my life better while I was deployed and even brought a good feeling to me here and starting my recovery. Brian, I know you said not to worry about the equipment but I do. I know you all worked hard to provide those things to make me more successful and I would have wanted to pass them on to the folks replacing me so they could benefit from them as I did. I'm not sure how much shooting I will be doing in the future because of my PTSD. The loud noise sends me into sweats and I get anxisity to the point I believe I'm going to die. I hope it goes away with time. Thanks again guys for your support and all you do. If I get into a position in the future I would like to make a donation to you so you can continue to support our hero's on the ground. I will for sure keep in contact with you all and if I get to the polytrauma center and anyone is in the area I would love a visitor.
God Bless and God Speed!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! I really want to do a freakin back flip right now, and you'd probably get a kick out of seeing me attempt one at that. Thanks a bunch man! The entire team is very enthusiastic about the interest and help we've gotten from you. You've been a great help to our morale.
Let me start by saying I appreciate the support you and your organization give not only to me and my guys, but to all the boys around the world doing bad things to bad people. Hearing day in and day out that the public supports us and the politicians support us is great, but to have fellow snipers from across the country put forth the effort to equip us the way you guys do is humbling to say the least. The first time I heard from you guys was in '05 and you all supplied us with some very much needed XXXXXXXXXX. Not only did you send enough for my ODA, but we were able to share with some of the other sniper units in our AO. Hell, we're still using the same nalgene bottles it came in! Myself and one of my snipers were finally able to repay you with our Battalion coin at the shot show this year.
I'm writing this time to make another request for my team. Our SPRs were just rebuilt and came back with very inadequate stocks to fill the role of Designated Marksman Rifle for which they were intended. I am looking for three Magpul PRS stocks to replace these prior to our upcoming deployment back to Iraq. If you can fill this request, I will personally be indebted to you for increasing the lethality of my team. If you cannot fill this request, can you put me in touch with a vendor who would sell the stocks at cost since it will come out of pocket?
Thanks again for your support,
De Oppresso Liber,
Commander ODA XXXXXXX
